Our MISSION  is to provide court appointed volunteers who advocate for the well being of Baltimore County's abused and neglected children including their placement in safe and permanent homes.

Our VISION is that each child involved in abuse and neglect court proceedings that needs a CASA will have one available.

Our Mission and Vision will be accomplished by the recruitment, screening, training and support of citizen volunteers who will serve as CASAs ( Court Appointed Special Advocates).

CASA volunteers, after 30 hours of pre-service training, a court observation, and a thorough screening process are sworn in by the court.  After they are appointed by the court to the case of a child  or sibling group, they perform an independent investigation of the child or children's circumstances and make a written report to the court regarding their findings.  The emphasis of the advocacy is directed toward achieving a safe and permanent home for children. CASA volunteers get to know the child , family and other care givers, and also monitor the child's care and the orders of the court.

CASA volunteers receive support and supervision and on-going in-service training from CASA staff.  The average CASA volunteer devotes between five and ten hours per month to all activities related to their case.
