CASA of Baltimore County held its Fifth Annual Harvest of Hope for Children on October 26, 2007 to rise operation funds for the current fiscal year. One of the guests that evening was a young man , Dustin, who recently aged out of the Foster Care system at age 21. He shared the following thought about what it meant to him to have a CASA in his life:

"What is a CASA? A CASA is a person that gives their free time to help a youth in need. A CASA is a loving and warm hearted person. CASAs help youth with every day problems they may face in every day activities. A CASA is someone that is there for guidance rather than telling you how you should live your life.  They show you options and will support you in whatever path you may choose in life. CASAs can be looked at as role models and as a father or mother figure to a youth that does not have one in their life. I believe every youth needs a CASA.  Without mine, I don’t know where I would have been today."
